We have a crew of young and old wranglers to help with educational experiences for children of all ages offering hands on activities. Small children must be accompanied by an adult.
"I want to be a Trail Rider"
Again this year; educational activities that are fun and exciting. The children will receive our booklet which will guide them to experience mule riding, leather stamping, and campfire singing, along with other fun activities. Once these activities have been completed, their booklet will receive a STAMP. The FIRST booklets completed get the PICK OF THE PONIES for the stick pony parade on Saturday and Sunday.
Let’s see who will get the first purple pony!
Stick Horse Parade
3:00 Saturday and 12:00 Sunday
Be the first to complete the booklet and GET THE PICK OF THE PONIES. Decorate your stick horse and be in a parade around the Event Center. The parade will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday at 12:00 pm with prizes for the best decorated stick pony. There will be stick horses available until we run out and you can take your stick horse home.
Muley Driver’s License
10:00-11:30 and 1:00-2:30 Saturday and Sunday
Extended times may be offered as needed. The two Brenda’s invite you to bring your children to learn about the amazing mule and climb-aboard on Jake. After passing the “Muley Driver's test", kids will be given a driver's license card. So come join in the fun and take photos of the kids riding a mule or we will, and then have the kids make craft stick frames.
Come shoot a marshmallow through the hole and win a prize.
Fly Tying Demonstration
Come watch how fishing flies are made. Kids can pick out the feathers and things they want on a fly, watch how it is made and then take it home when done.
Campfire Songs for the Young and Young at Heart
2:00-3:00 Saturday, 12:00-1:00 Sunday
Come sit a while and sing or listen to campfire songs and stories. Children and adults are encouraged to participate.

Saturday until the fish are gone
Free fishing for youngsters at the fishing pond. There will be poles and assistance available.
Come catch a fish and take it home to eat!
Fly Casting Clinic
with John Hyde
on the North Mezzanine
John has lived on the Yamsi ranch all his life and started fishing the waters of the Williamson river when he was 5 years old. He has a deep love and understanding of the river, its aquatic life and the lands that surround it. He has lifetime knowledge of where the fish are hiding and how to fish for them.
John has a Federation of Fly Fishing (FFF) casting instructor’s certification and enjoys teaching and helping all levels of anglers. John can handle most groups that arrive, if additional guides are needed it can be arranged. Come learn to cast in a hands-on class.

Come by and visit about any subject relating to trail riding, packing, or camping with your horses or mules with the Trail Meister Robert Eversole, military survival expert John Hayes or author and packer Ed Haefliger. They will be delighted to visit with you and hopefully help you to get out there onto the trails and into the backcountry safely.
Blacksmith in Action

Saturday and Sunday All Day
Peter is a farrier and has been shoeing horses since 1997 as well as being a blacksmith. He earned his Certificate of Farrier Science at the Colorado School of Trades where he also studied blacksmithing skills. Come watch the age-old art and learn a few things.
Golden Forge Custom Designs
with David and Angela Belongie
David and Angela create hand engraved silver articles, working cowboy gear and mohair cinches. Come by their booth to see Angela tying cinches and David engraving some silver. It’s always intriguing to see beautiful things being hand-made!
